Plex is bringing The Connected Enterprise to life across industrial enterprises using its Smart Manufacturing platform. The Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform connects every manufacturing operation in the cloud for maximum efficiency, productivity and visibility while supporting continuous innovation.

Plex’s innovative solutions are used in many discrete manufacturing operations in Automotive, Food & Beverage, Precision Metal forming, Plastics & Rubber, Industrial Manufacturing, High Tech & Electronics and Aerospace industries.

You can use this platform for Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Quality Management System (QMS), Supply Chain Planning (SCP), Production Monitoring, MES Automation & Orchestration and Asset Performance Management (APM).


The Challenge

As a business offering lasting innovative solutions for manufacturing firms, Plex needed a website that its customers could easily navigate and understand. A website that easily provided the solution to its customers.

The former Plex website was boring and unengaging. It didn’t display the site’s information in the way that it was supposed to.

So we had to redesign the Plex website in a way that was easier to understand. We had to make it easier for site visitors to navigate, engage and get in touch with Plex.

The Approach

We redesigned the current Plex website using Laravel.

We chose Laravel because it is more secure and easier to migrate databases with Laravel rather than WordPress. Also, Laravel is excellent for large scale systems and data management. For a business that is known for providing efficient solutions to its customers, the Plex website had to have faster page loading speeding,  which Laravel is known for.

We built for Plex a custom website in 7 steps:


Analysis: This stage involved information gathering. We identified important things that helped us decide on what website to build. Such things included the website’s purpose, the website goals, and the target audience.


Planning: We defined this site’s sitemap, website structure, and technologies that we would use.


Design: We focused on what and how the Plex website would look like. Our focus was on the visual aspects of the website (How appealing it would be to customers and site visitors). We also decided on the wireframe models, visual style, and usability of the website’s user interface and user experience (UI & UX).


Content: Our team of copywriters wrote the relevant and compelling copy on the site’s pages. We added relevant and engaging photos and ensured that all content was search engine and user optimized (we followed the best SEO practices).


Development: We created the website using HTML and CSS Coding. We also used secure databases and responsive design so that the site could be optimally accessed on all devices.


Testing: After the completion of the site, our team tested all the technical aspects of the website. We tested its browser compatibility (if it was compatible with all internet browsers). We also analyzed the website in its entirety to ensure that it fulfilled its purpose.


Deployment: After launching the Plex website, we continued to monitor it to ensure that it functioned efficiently and fixed any detected bugs.

The Results

The new and improved Plex website has an excellent user experience. The large data site is easy to understand in its simple layout. This has increased the user experience, engagement and conversion, as shown by the figures below.

  • * 6% increase in total conversions over the first 11 months.
  • * 254% increase in overall campaign conversion rate over the first 11 months.
  • * 4% decrease in CPA over the first 11 months.
